NAMING CEREMONIES

A Naming Ceremony is a very special way of celebrating the birth of your child, and welcoming them into your circle of family and friends, it also enables them to share the naming of your little one in their presence. It is also an ideal way to welcome an adoptive child or to embrace stepchildren into a new family.                                               

It is important to note that a Naming Ceremony is not a baptism or a christening, although if you would like, there is no reason why there can't be a religious component added.

A Naming Ceremony is appropriate for a baby, child or children of any age :

~ For young children in their first year or so of life.

~ If older children did not have a Naming Ceremony when they were babies, it can be important for them to have their own ceremony to give them a sense of togetherness with the family.

~ Adopted and step-children can also be welcomed into their new or extended families with a Naming Ceremony.

Most Naming Ceremonies contain readings, poetry, naming of your baby or child, welcoming your baby or child, parent and godparent promises and vows, the lighting of a naming candle or other significant ritual. The choice is endless.  

I will work with you to help you create a warm and special ceremony that welcomes your little one in the way you would like, providing you with ideas and suggestions for your ceremony, as well as a certificate for you to keep to remember this important day.

Fee: My fee is $250.  A deposit of $50 confirms your booking in my diary.  The deposit is not refundable. The balance of my fee is due a week before the ceremony.  I accept cheques/money orders, cash or electronic transfers into my bank account.
